ABOUT
Backroad Transportation is a 100% minority owned trucking company providing large scale solid waste removal service, metal recycling services, construction debris, etc. on the East Coast. Backroad is certified MBE, DBE, SBE with the state of Maryland, and CBSMBE with Prince George's County.
With over 33 years of trucking experience, Mr. Randall decided to venture out and establish his own trucking company. In 2016, Backroad Transportation was started with one truck and one driver, as of today Backroad has multiple dump trucks, tractors & trailers, roll offs and dumpster.

David Coates, Senior Transportation Specialist
In 2017, David Coates joined the Backroad Transportation team as a truck driver. He came to Backroad Transportation with a wealth of experience. Mr. Coates was in the Army for 7 years; he was first stationed at Fort Drum Climb to Glory, then later stationed at Fort Mead “88M” as a Motor Transport Operator.
After leaving the military Mr. Coates became a civilian truck driver with various trucking companies until his employment began with Backroad Transportation in 2017. With over 22 years of experience, Mr. Coates has been an asset to the team. He started as a team driver, later moving to our Senior Transportation Specialist. He provides backup support to the owner of the company and is an excellent mentor to other drivers on the Backroad team.

Nakia Randall, Business Operations Manager
Nakia Randall is the Business Operations Manager for Backroad Transportation. She is responsible for all administrative, marketing, governmental compliance, and financial duties. She works directly with the owner as an executive of the team and helps with decision-making.
She comes to Backroad Transportation with over 25 years of experience in administration, finance, and customer services, which imparted her the ability to identify and solve problems. These skills facilitated her growth to over ten years of supervisory and management experience. She can work in a fast-paced and changing environment with organizational skills and discipline. All these skills have contributed to the accomplishment of business development through research and developing marketing opportunities and plans.
